چکیده

OPERATION of a nervous mechanism in the genesis of cardiac arrhythmias secondary to the injection of calcium chloride was suggested by the observation that electrical sympathetic stimulation consistently induced ventricular arrhythmias only when calcium chloride was given simultaneously. Insight into the problem was obtained when sympatholytic and other autonomic blocking drugs were reported to prevent ventricular flutter and fibrillation induced by standardized doses of calcium chloride. Further studies on the involved mechanisms seemed to be in order, since the suspected importance of the central nervous system has not been fully determined.

Effects of pretreatment with non hypotensive dose of ramiprilat and losartan on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion induced arrhythmias and infarct size in rats

Introduction: Inhibition of renin angiotensin system represents an important approach in the management of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to explore the effects of pretreatment with non-hypotensive dose of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, ramiprilat and angiotensin type 1 (AT1) receptor blocker, losartan on myocardial infarct size and arrhythmias in a rat mo...

Ellagic acid improved arrhythmias induced by CaCL2 in the rat stress model

Objective: In ventricular arrhythmias, due to their free radical scavenging action, antioxidant agents are usually used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Since stress is considered as risk factor for increased mortality by causing malignant arrhythmias, the study was designed to evaluate the cardioprotective effects of ellagic acid (EA) on CaCl2-induced arrhythmias in rat stress model...

Evaluation the Protective Role of Gallic Acid on Cardiac Arrhythmias Induced by Oxidative Stress in Rat Exposure to Particulate Matters

Introduction: Particulate matter (PM) increases the risk of heart disorders. Gallic acid (GA) with strong antioxidant properties has shown an effective role in reducing the complications of various diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effect of Gallic acid in preventing cardiac arrhythmias due to exposure to particulate matter. Methods: In this study, 40 rats were pla...

Effects of Total Extract of Dracocephalum moldavica on Ischemia/Reperfusion Induced Arrhythmias and Infarct Size in the Isolated Rat Heart

Objective(s) Dracocephalum moldavica (D. moldavica) have been traditionally used as a cardiotonic agent in the folk medicine of some regions of Iran. In the present study, effects of total extract of D. moldavica on ischemia/reperfusion induced arrhythmias and infarct size investigated in isolated rat heart. Materials and Methods The isolated hearts were mounted on a Langendorff apparatus th...

Wenxin Keli attenuates ischemia-induced ventricular arrhythmias in rats: Involvement of L‑type calcium and transient outward potassium currents.

Wenxin Keli is the first state‑sanctioned traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)-based antiarrhythmic drug. The present study aimed to examine whether long‑term treatment with Wenxin Keli reduces ischemia‑induced ventricular arrhythmias in rats in vivo, and if so, which mechanisms are involved. Male rats were treated with either saline (control group) or Wenxin Keli for 3 weeks and were subjected t...
